#30. Tachehde and Sagamorde

November 30, 2009

Tachehde is the unmoving Gholhem. Many years ago he seated himself in the chieftain’s chair while holding the former chieftain of the Mystical Guitar Tribe: Sagamorde. Tachehde brought Sagamorde to their final resting place when Sagamorde fell in battle with the Shrill Servant.

In recent days, some visitors claim Tachehde occasionally opens his eyes. The tribe’s Shaman, Maya sees this as a sign that Tachehde (the most powerful and talented of all Gholhems) will rejoin the tribe when he’s presented with the right offering. With this hope, Maya is scouring the village for the right offering and for volunteers to help her cause.

Tachehde and Sagamorde (and even Maya) are a few more characters that will be encountered in a future plot arc in the story of Art Geek Zoo.

What a month this has been! Making 30 new characters in 30 days has been a huge challenge for me. I’ll blog more thoughts about the whole experience in days to come. Thanks for setting up this event, Tyler James. Also I thank all the artists and writers that participated and all the readers that kept watch as we made all these characters!

I dig the coloring and crosshatching.

The face in the foreground is very reminiscent of ancient statuary and idols.

    Nice work.

Awesome, Thanks Javen. I was going for that ancient statue/ancient battle armor feel and wanted to play with more “ink” through hatching and hashes but still have a painted look.

Nice work Rob, congrats on completing the 30 Characters Challenge. You had some really great works and I look forward to seeing the characters in AZG and other strips.

I can’t wait to get more of these characters introduced in AGZ. Thank you very much!
