#30. Dorothy, the Waitress

November 30, 2009
by

Dorothy’s a career waitress, having put in a long 9 years in since highschool. Unfortunately the time has been served at 16 different establishments. And her departures have been less tuan amicable.

But Dorothy is a resourceful lady, and she’s got some pretty powerful motivation, so she always seems to land on her feet.

Dorothy is a character who will appear in The Winchcombe.

The Winchcombe is a new comic strip Im producing. It’s a funny strip told in the mockumentary style of shows like The Office and Modern Family.

The Winchcombe follows the adventures of the owner and crew of an English style pub in Downtown Minneapolis that’s recently gone through a change of ownership and is struggling to restore it’s good reputation

It will begin publishing on Tuesdays and Thursdays in January, but there is an 8-page preview that serves to set the stage and tell a little of the history of The Winchcombe.

Check out an 8-page preview of The Winchcombe to learn more about the history of the joint.

I’ve enjoyed your art this month, Javen (I still think you draw like Pope). I’ll be on the lookout for For The Trees. It sounds interesting. Job well done!

Great stuff! I’ve really admired all your work this month, particularly your lovely bold inking. I’ll be looking out for your stuff in the future, and am looking forward to seeing more of The Winchcombe in January.
