16. Black Friday

November 16, 2009

Another obligatory strong thing.

I wanted a Thanksgiving themed character, and Black Friday fits the bill.

I wanted a villain but I think he turned out more of an anti-hero.

Black Friday is a golem, made by a mad scientist who was inspired by the Doorbuster sales that happen the day after thanksgiving. Because nobody busts a door better than a big rocky guy.

The mad scientist, however, felt remorse at all the violence and death that comes from Black Friday. So he doesn’t bust doors to help the crowds. He busts doors and steals turkeys from supermarkets who haven’t sold all of theirs. And then the golem brings them to the homeless.

The golem is powered by the insane energy of Black Friday and Christmas shoppers, so the rest of the season until Christmas, he guards toy drives to make sure orphans toys aren’t stolen by crackheads. He chases muggers and watches churches, synagogues, and mosques so that their money is not stolen during the holiday season.

Thank you for the kind words!

Not like we don’t encounter superheroes with the same name elsewhere, right?

Consider it a case of GMTA!
