10. Impetus

November 10, 2009

ImpetusEvery league has its superstar, a competitor who stands head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.  The CLA is no difference.  Enter: Impetus.

Never defeated in battle and usually saved for only main events, since he has a greater tendency than any other fighter to leave a dead man or woman in his wake, Impetus is the main reason Kurt Blackburn’s Death Stars have been on top of the CLA since its inception.

Super strength, flight, energy projection- yup, Impetus‘ power tree is loaded.  But what makes him truly scary, is that if he gets his hands on you, he can see your fears, and then has the ability to stay inside your head and manipulate them.  In fact, the few fighters he’s let walk away from a battle with him, usually wish they had died, as Impetus leaves them alive so he can play and torture their minds in the time in between fights.  No, he is not a nice guy.

However, he’s a winner.  And as such, America loves him.

Yeah, that’s what I’m going for Mike. A familiar vibe, in that he comes across as a total badass villain. I wasn’t loving the mask at first, but once I through the hood over it, I felt it worked.

The artist I’m working with on Colosseum X is excited to work with the core of my design and make it absolutely sing. I’m excited to see what he does with it.

Very super-villainish! He looks like someone to fear! I was going to suggest taking off the ‘star’ designs, and I did a quick version in Photoslop to look at, but your way looks better. He looks like he’ll make a fun bad guy.

I’m loving all the team logo’s you cook up. This one integrates the logo in the design better’n most. Nice. I look at him and I think TaskMaster…in fact a shield on his arm would be overkill so I think you did it perfectly.

Very bad-ass character concept and design. Just thinking about the problems that this villain can cause it makes me both want to see a hero stand up to him and be scared of seeing what kind of psychological damage he can do to the same hero.
