Name: G.O.D. (Gnome Operational Data)

Most people hear gnome the first thing they thing of is a small little guy with a point hat and a white beard. Those in the computer world think of a linux desktop distro. A small few though think of instructions, brought in a maximum but compact form.

The G.O.D. is a type of A.I. simply put, created to create. Placed within a virtual world as a blank slate, G.O.D. was charged with creating and managing what took place in this world. Due its not so clever nicknamed the scientists gave it, the world itself was given one just as clever, Eden.

The system at this point has been running for well over 40 years. The Eden virtual world has become a distorted mirrored version of our own world much to the surprise of its creators. The mathematic possibilities alone have been a source of constant frustration for them.

After the G.O.D.’s initial creation algorithm took root it seemed to go dormant. Creating agent like processes to help manage the systems being implemented. These of course were labeled Angels. These agent programs create order from the birth of chaos and help shape Eden to what it is today.

The scientists have always been able to interface with G.O.D., even had the ability to hook up to the Eden system through virtual avatar and interact. This is strictly forbidden as it would corrupt all the data created by the experiment. Thought there is rumor that at some early stage one scientist may have done just that.

Of course if you inquired about this you would be told to forget it. Pursue further and you might just disappear too, just like the scientist that never existed.
