Dr. French

Dr. French is one of a handful of plastic surgeons who specializes in calf implants.  Here is an interview excerpt from Dr. French, published in the summer 2004 issue of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the official periodical of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).

“Much like breast augmentations, calf implants were traditionally for a small market of clients who suffered ridicule and low self-esteem due to severely underdeveloped calves.  Specifically, these patients suffered from either Spina Bifida, Poliomyelitis (Polio disease), or clubfoot.

Two critical factors have increased calve implants purely for aesthetic purposes.   The popularity of bodybuilding competition and the subsequent genetic difficulties associated with building strong calve muscles.  Many bodybuilders are extremely disproportionate when it comes to matching their calves to the rest of their body parts.  This drives them crazy.  It also drives them to my practice.

Nearly 60% of my annual practice is dedicated to calf augmentation alone.  I could do as much as 80% annually, but I like to keep my breast augmentation skills sharp.  I could see calve aesthetic interest declining, but titties…err, breasts, well I don’t see an end to women ever being comfortable with their breast size.”

Dr. French has volunteered to offer his medical expertise for the calve building documentary (name TBD) Christophers and Pepper are producing.  In return, Christophers has offered his own calves to be photographed for French’s calve research.  Calve implants are not covered by insurance and Pepper, despite his advanced age, is considering going under the knife at a cost of $6000.

Dr. French lives just outside NYC, in Mt. Vernon, with his wife Barbie and their sextuplets.
