SpadeFoot
SpadeFoot is the first of three new demons that will appear in of Q-Burger. He’s a member of Hell’s Employees, a 4-demon squad of elite specialists, lead by Vega (who first appeared a few weeks back). He’s got a big hoof for a hand that’s kind of like a spade.

Hence the, uh…name. Yeah.

I’m not very good at designing monsters so creating this first series of characters has been a challenge within a challenge. I never really got into the whole monster-drawing phase as a kid. I don’t really like like monsters, but there are times when a story calls for something that’s a bit out of one’s comfort zone. So thanks, 30 in 30, for the extra motivation!

Is that an…. eye on his chin? Eeeeeeeew. And the hairy armpits are a nice touch!

Dig the background work on this character. The loose sketches and the bio writeup. Top notch!

    Eyes! Eyes everywhere! That’s awesome!

Too many people design creatures that are typical (like I did. oops!) But the truely great ones are the creatures outside the box.

    Good work!

“I don’t really like like monsters”… Monsters everywhere lower their heads with hurt feelings… Poor monsters. I still love you.

I’m surprised you say that, though. If I hadn’t known who the artist was, I would have said Rob Zombie drew this.

love the simplicity of black ink designs, yet still so much good detail. Proves coloring isn’t essential.
